About us

We are a family from Germany and spent our first holiday in Kommetjie in 2012. We found the place on Google Earth looking for a great beach in southern Africa. It’s been one of the best choices we ever made. Kommetjie is a relaxed surfer community with great people and wonderful nature all around. In 2015, a plot came up for sale and after years of planning and design with architect Stephen Lennard and his wife Sue, the house was finished in 2019. We try to spend our holidays there every year but also enjoy renting the house to people who want to share in the joy of spending days at this awesome place.

About our house

Blue Ocean Beach House has been newly built in 2018 and 2019 and sits right on the beach in Kommetjie about 50 minutes from Cape Town International Airport. It is part of the well managed Klein Slangkop Security Estate where you enjoy extra security but without walls and fences. The house has four bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom. Enjoy the view over the ocean from the upstairs master bedroom (you may see the surfers at “Sunset”, a world famous wave right in front of the house) or watch the birds on the flowers and trees in the courtyard garden. There is a pool and a separate small heated pool (Jacuzzi) on the front deck. Enjoy the warm water in complete privacy while watching the sunset over the ocean. The deck has comfortable outdoor furniture and a gas braai and is well protected from prevailing winds. There is Wi-fi, DSTV and a Sonos Sound System.

Rates and seasons:

1. Rates
   Low season winter: 14 April – 14 September: R7300 a night
   (3 night minimum stay) (Peak season rates will apply to Easter weekend and 4 night minimum stay)

Early season summer: 14 September – 14 October: R8200 a night
(3 night minimum stay)

Mid summer season: 14 October -14 December: R9100 a night (3 night minimum stay)

Peak season summer: 14 December – 14 January: R 11300  a night
(7 night minimum stay and 14 night minimum stay with Christmas and New Year)

Mid season summer: 14 January – 14 April: R9100 a night
(3 night minimum stay)

Additional costs
A refundable breakages deposit of R10,000 is collected by credit card prior to arrival applies to all bookings

We charge a post cleaning/admin fee of R1100 on all bookings and a linen fee of R700 that is paid with the balance of payment.
